ReplyDeleteyou know you can train your dog not to bark, right. It takes a little effort, but it is better than having to see a poor helpless animal be put to sleep or shipped off to a new owner.

ReplyDeleteThere are medications, devices, and behavior training that will curb the barking. The dog appears healthy and strong. Barking is a dogs way of expressing themselves, maybe she just needs to learn to use her inside voice.

ReplyDeleteEmily, I'm a vet tech and have dealt with excessive barkers before. She may be barking for attention. Dogs are very social creatures and crave lots of company. Most only bark for attention, even if it's only to be briefly scolded for barking. To them, any attention is better than none at that moment.
ReplyDeleteTo correct the behavior, there are lots of books out there and training devices (such as shock and citronella collars) that can help you teach Sadie not to bark a lot. If you don't have the time to train, I'd suggest going to your local pet store and seeing if they offer obedience classes; I know that PetSmart and PetCo offer very successful ones.
If for some reason training isn't an option, then please ask your dad to either sell her or give her to the animal shelter so she can be placed up for adoption.

ReplyDeleteSomehow, I don't think this page is real. Most people don't put a dog down just for barking. If nothing else, they give it up for adoption. If you're really worried about it and want her to go to a good home, look in the area for a good dog rescue. There are a ton everywhere.

I hope that your dear dog can go to a home that will give it the love it deserves. It's just a pity that you can't go to another home as well. ReplyDeleteThis is fake. To start, you can't put a dog to sleep just because it barks. If you can't put up with the barking, give the dog to someone who can. This dog could be real, but the argument being pushed is fake. Notice the date at the corner of the photo. This was take nearly 5 months ago; another big clue that this isn't real. A future post shows direct step by step instructions on how to share the page with friends. It looks as if it was made by a professional just looking for personal information. Another thing that leads me to suspect that this is fake is that the number keeps on extending from beginning: 10000 likes to end result: 1000000. A million likes has to raise suspicion for a lot of people. Even if this is true(which I highly doubt), it is illegal and wrong.

Working dogs help out the community by being guide dogs and sniffer dogs, protecting us and helping the people in need. Dogs are amazing animals and can mean everything to something. If u r not an animal lover try imagine waking up knowing that ur family or children or partner arent there for u. That is what it is like for some people whose dogs r not still with them.

Actually not all of the girls are saying "OMG save the puppy." I suggested it to a few of my friends but I agree that it does seem iffy. FYI I am a girl. And yes while some girls are very emotional ( no offense to anyone) I am using my rational side and actually tend to do that most of the time. So, in conclusion Lars E, it DOESN'T prove anything.
ReplyDeleteBesides if if your parent or parents are forcing you to put an apparently healthy dog down, you give it away. If the dog is not healthy and cannot be helped you need to put it down. I have had 5 pets die. 4 cats and the best aussie sheperd ever. one of the four cats we lost less than a month ago, and I still miss them all very much, even though 4 of them died years ago. My point is if the dog can't be helped then you have to put it down. It's not cruel, its kind, because it puts them out of whatever pain they are in.
